But before I tell you who won, I'd like to thank everyone who participated and responded as well as all of my fabulous followers.

A special thanks goes to a special follower and friend, Lea Barrymire. None of this would be possible without her dedication, creativity and friendliness. My hat is off to you, at least, it would be if I were wearing one.

Drum Roll, please.

The winner of my drawing is: VANILLA ORCHIDS!

Congratulations, and your prize will be on its way to you ASAP.

Chocolate and Roses Blog Hop

Howdy Folks!

Thanks for participating in this awesome blog hop. The winner will walk away with 10 strandbucks!

I normally associate chocolate and roses with Valentine's day. And, I'll never forget my first one as a married woman.

I married my high school sweetheart, and our first Valentine's was rough. I was in the hospital, and our son was only a few days old. Jeremy, my sweet hubby, had been run ragged between work and trying to take care of me completely on his own. (Yes, my family was there, but he felt that he needed to be the one doing every little thing.)

I found out I was getting released, but our son wasn't since he threw up formula they were insisting on giving him despite the fact I was trying to breast feed. I was in tears, sitting outside the nursery since they wouldn't let me have him for a while. He came running in, still in his work clothes, with a bouquet of every imaginable color roses plus other flowers like daisies and mums and many more in just as many vibrant hues. He also had a heart shaped box of dark chocolate.

He dropped them next to me and pulled me close to him and hugged me. The flowers and chocolates laid on the floor, but he kissed and held me close to sooth my irrational bawling over not being able to hold my baby boy even though I could see him asleep on the other side of the glass.

I know we've all done something to ruin a sweet moment, so I'd like to hear all y'all's.

Leave me a message about your silliest, funniest, goofiest, sweetest, or whatever moment with either a sweetie or a great friend.

Busy Or Too Busy

I feel like I've been running in circles and getting absolutely nothing done lately. I think this is something we all have felt at one time or another. I work a day job that I both love and hate, and I think that is a good thing. I write as a way of kicking back and unwinding.

I love to write. Watching a story unfold is rewarding. The characters are our friends and our enemies. They develop from ink on paper, or type on a screen, to these people who an author can see clearly. They have feelings and motives. They lust, they want, they need, and they think. Sometimes for me, this means that they don't behave in the way I originally plan. Anyway, I'm heading off on a tangent. ;)

Writing teaches us patience while making us be creative. Creativity has become lost lately. I see this in my day job. And this has brought me to my point.

We all know what it means to be busy. But, do we know where the line is between busy and too busy? What do we do when we become too busy?

Well, since I have a million things to do, and one of them is getting in touch with Lea about our awesome blog hop starting on SATURDAY (:D), I will get back to work and live to post another day.

Leave a message if y'all ain't too busy to do so.

Ciao for now!
